History of the App

From the project idea in 2019 to a living platform

The BayernHistoryApp has grown over more than seven years — from a project idea in 2019 through the first editorial teams in 2020 to today's platform with eight topic areas. This page documents the most important milestones, the people involved and the funding that made the project possible.

    Topic area for the project „Remembrance Culture, Inclusive and Digital: NS Memorial Sites as an App", „Jewish Life in Past and Present", various special commissions for audio guides.

  8. 2026

    Topic areas Tell Me About It and Inns and Breweries

Local Editorial Leadership

In the participating municipalities, local editorial leads contribute content on the ground and maintain the link to local history societies, town archives and volunteer actors.
