What is BayernHistory?

BayernHistory is the digital platform for regional history, remembrance culture and cultural themes in Bavaria. Municipalities, museums, initiatives, cultural venues and educational organisations shape their own content and make it permanently and publicly accessible.

The BayernHistoryApp is the central digital platform for Bavarian history and regional studies. Eight themed areas bring together urban history, NS memorial sites, Jewish life, Bavarian inn culture, audio guides, railway history, the Bavarian language atlas and personal memories under one roof. More than 1,800 entries from over 80 Bavarian municipalities make the app a well-established platform for everyone who wants to discover, experience or historically explore Bavaria — free of charge for iOS and Android.
