From an Art Project to an Internationally Active Cultural Institution
Association
dieKunstBauStelle e. V. is the host and publisher of the BayernHistoryApp. The association is based in Landsberg am Lech.
Self-image
dieKunstBauStelle e. V. is a versatile and dynamic non-profit organisation. Wolfgang Hauck founded the association in January 2014 in Landsberg am Lech and brought together artists, cultural workers, journalists, editors, sociologists and volunteers to bring this initiative to life. The association has its origins in an art project of the same name from 2012/2013 that artistically revived the townscape of Landsberg during the renovation of its main square.
With Landsberg am Lech as its core region, the association's activities extend across Bavaria and internationally. Since 2018, dieKunstBauStelle has run a branch office in Berlin and a coordination office in Istanbul; since 2022 the association has also been active in the Augsburg district of Hochfeld and at the Bahnpark Augsburg.
Goals
The non-profit goals of the association are the promotion of art and culture, cultural mediation, cultural education and projects in cultural youth work. Central concerns are the culture of remembrance, the artistic engagement with history, and participatory digital formats in which residents can contribute their own content.
