Scientific and Expert Contributions

Scientific research and local expertise

The BayernHistoryApp covers a wide range of topics — from city history to castle research, from remembrance culture to craftsmanship. To ensure that entries in the app and on BayernHistory.de are factually sound and reliably accurate, we work closely with experts from academia and research, as well as with town archivists, local historians and community actors.

Strict standards for National Socialist history

In the field of modern and contemporary history, particularly the history of National Socialism, we apply the strictest standards for publication and accuracy of information.

Thanks to our expertise and our advisory team, which emerged in connection with the NaziCrimesAtlas project, we can draw on a sound foundation. Nevertheless, questions remain, and we explicitly welcome further contributors who can support us with advice, action and expertise.

Topics in development

We are continuously expanding the BayernHistoryApp. We are particularly looking for further expert support for the following topic areas:

  • Early history of Bavaria
  • Architecture and monuments
  • Music and musical culture
  • Customs and folk culture
  • Further topic areas as needed

The BayernHistoryApp is a platform for participation. It seeks to tell the history of Bavaria together and in its diversity — and that is only possible together.
