How the content is created

From research to publication: how local knowledge becomes content in the BayernHistoryApp.

The content of BayernHistory is created in different ways — several routes are possible and well established.

In workshops, local actors — citizens of the communities, heritage curators, associations and schools — formulate themes and focuses for their place together.

Local historians and heritage curators bring in their archives gathered over decades — historical photographs, documents, books and oral tradition. Together with the editorial team these treasures are prepared for the app.

An editorial team of volunteers, historians, journalists and multimedia designers then develops the content. Texts, audio and image galleries are published through the app's content management system.

This way of working ensures both academic accuracy and local rootedness.
