For local history societies, heritage conservation, municipal archives and volunteer history work
As Heritage Society and History Actor
You have been collecting, documenting and preserving the history of your locality for years – in records, photographs, memories, archives. The BayernHistoryApp makes this knowledge accessible to everyone: digital, location-based and at the right place at the right moment.
Who are our actors
Bavaria thrives on its local history societies. From the volunteer heritage curator in the village to the city archivist in the medium-sized town to the full-time monument conservator at the district authority – you all preserve knowledge that would otherwise be lost.
Many engaged people in retirement bring exactly this specialised knowledge: teachers, ministers, administrators, craftspeople. We respect your time, your materials and your dedication – and we turn them into something visible and audible.
Who does what — the division of tasks
You as heritage actors
- provide the knowledge: images, texts, historical sources
- review content for accuracy and local relevance
- finalise content together with our editorial team
We at dieKunstBauStelle
- prepare your texts and images for the app format
- maintain all content in the CMS and the app
- clarify rights and source questions
- record audio or support audio production
- place points (PoIs) on the map
- ensure long-term digital availability
How it works
- Your municipality joins the BayernHistoryApp with a basic entry, providing the technical and legal foundation.
- As local actors you use this access and work together with our editorial team on the content.
- Typically 10 to 20 points (PoIs) emerge for first walking tours – church, market square, mill, cemetery, memorial, industrial monument, whatever defines your place.
- The app shows these points on location, with image, text and audio – automatically, as soon as someone is nearby with a smartphone.
